‘Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don’t want to.’
– British businessman
Through consultancy and interim management, we challenge you and help you to pursue a goal that thrives within the entire company and that applies to each individual, so that you can set up your organisation accordingly.
A common vision creates commitment and makes employees enthusiastic for the greater good, therefore making it easier for you to implement your vision. And that considerably increases the chance of long-term success.
Perhaps you already flawlessly know what’s going on within your organisation or department, and what kinds of choices you need to make. But sometimes you need a fresh look, someone who thinks along with you. Because:
- Why does your organisation do what it does the way it does?
- What mission, vision and core values do you have?
- What are the objectives of your organisation?
- How can you determine a clear strategy for pursuing these objectives?
- Are the strategies being implemented? Do the employees know why exactly?
- What does the new generation of employees expect from managers and leaders?
- Do you fully understand your employees who are part of this new generation?
You are in good hands with regard to the above issues. We have extensive knowledge and experience in leadership. Leadership in vertical and horizontal organisations, with the new generation and in different cultures and continents.
We are happy to help develop and share a vision and mission. In this way you can function more effectively as a manager and achieve more results for yourself and your organisation. In a way that suits you best.
Management: from mission to implementation
The concept of management is very broad. Which is why we assume the following sub-categories: Leadership, Management and Coaching.
Direction and future, that’s what Leadership is all about. To determine this, you need to be clear on why you do the things you do. What are your motivators and core values?
Make sure you have a clear Why that the people in your organisation can identify with. Good leaders can inspire others because they themselves know exactly why they do what they do. When employees know why the organisation is heading in a certain direction, they become intrinsically motivated to contribute to the end result.
Have a look below at the TED talk “How great leaders inspire action” from leadership guru Simon Sinek. His Golden Circle demonstrates the importance of the Why.
Once you have determined your vision and strategy, the next step is to implement these into your organisation.
For this we use the strategic planning tool OGSM: Objective (Ambition), Goals (Objectives), Strategies (Strategic choices), Measures (KPIs and actions). This model provides clear direction and ensures that ideas and plans are made concrete. And realised. From vision to action.
Employees are your most important ‘possession’, you want to have, and retain, the right talent. But then you have to know what they want. What are their needs and motivations, and how do you respond to these?
Coaching leadership is important here, especially for the new generation of employees who are now entering the labour market for the first time, Generation Z. They don’t want a hierarchy, no leader. They want to develop, and be coached. If you offer room for autonomy and collaboration, they will make use of their talents.
These ‘new employees’ also want to be assessed on the basis of competencies. Competence-based leadership, which focuses on the development of competencies, fits in well with this. It is based on The Leadership Architect® Competencies from Lominger, a model that defines 67 competency definitions for professional and managerial people.
Many organisations still focus primarily on efficiency thinking and therefore have too little an eye out for the development and motivations of their employees. Make sure you meet the expectations of your people. Or better yet: that you exceed them.
With our extensive experience in, among other things, assessments, advice and consultancy, and projects, we can help you manage the changes and complexities of the new world.
You don’t just do the things you do just because, but from a certain motive. Do you need help in clarifying your mission and vision? Or need some new inspiration? Would you like advice about making choices for the future?
